We are so happy to have heard from KC (Kalhua and Cream)....the first filly born at Flying Colors Farm and Claim to Fame's big sister!!

She is now living back in Florida and owned by a wonderful young lady who loves her a lot and is doing wonderful things in the show ring on her! She's won the regional 4-H, and is also showing on the A Circuit!

This first photo is a conservative hunter photo, but look at this girl flying over those jumper jumps!! We're so proud of both of them!!

It's always fun to be successful, but we were especially proud when the 2006 colt by Claim to Fame and Colormarks went to the Jacksonville Fall Series Hunter Breeding classes and beat all the older horses.....for the title of Best Young Horse. We look forward to showing him on the line more in 2008....he's as perfect as they come in our opinion!!

Just took this conformation shot of Hunt Colors 7/07. He is the oldest of our breeding program on our farm....he was out of Black Heather, a mare who won on the line at Devon. She was by SirThompson (Buckpasser/TomFool) bred by Diana Dodge. He is 3/4 TB and stands 16.2. I should have put him on the line, as he is a looker!.....and soo athletic and comfortable. I've shown him in hunters, eventing and he's been my hunt horse for the past five years. Two years ago I led a twenty five mile coyote run for Live Oak Hounds on him......he has no "bottom"..!!

Someone commented to me at the Southern MFHA Centennial Fieldhunter Qualifier that Debonair looked like an old time painting......... I'm really tempted to paint this photo!

I was thrilled to win the BTO Reserve Championship in the Centennial Fieldhunter Championships for the MFHA (competition from the US and Canada!!) held in Virginia in May. Here are a few of my favorite photos!!

Just got this cute photo of one of our Doberman's who live with us on the farm! Killer is just a youngster and doesn't live up to his name! He loves to play with the young horses!

This is Flawless, (barn named Devon for her big brother, Claim to Fame's win). She is a 2001 Oldenburg mare who stands 16.2 as a four year old, and is still growing. She is actually 3/4 TB and 1/4 Dutch. She is by the Oldenburg stallion, Hall of Fame and out of our LOVELY broodmare, Akula (who has hunted with Live Oak Hounds barefoot and never taken a lame step in the ten years we've owned her!

Her picture perfect conformation earned her premium status at her Oldenburg Inspection - one of only three out of the thirty one presented to get that honor. She is a very comfortable, light and rhythmic horse to ride. She trailrides alone and in groups, visits shows, and has no vices! She looks like she'll have an awsome, stylish jump.

She got cast in her stall this winter and unfortunately Flawless got some blemishes on her rear legs, so we bred her to Paparazzo for her o6 foal, Pizzazz. She's now back under saddle and will be offered for sale.

This mare has one of the kindest, most willing attitudes of any mare I've ever known. She is very light and rhythmic to ride and floats over jumps!

Couldn't resist putting this photo of Claim to Fame jumping at Upperville in 2004 on the Gallery Page. He's our outstanding stallion.......see more of him on the stallion page!!

This is one of my favorite photos of two of our mares who were born on the farm and are now having thier own foals for us. Stormwatch and Colormarks. They greet me every morning when I walk out the door. What scenery!!!

Make a Claim, the first foal born by Claim to Fame is now living with her new owners, the Lyles, in Warrenton, Va. She showed on the line as a yearling and was placed fourth out of twenty eight (and the top pinto) out of 28 in her class at Devon. Shown here as a yearling, she won her class and was named Reserve Champion Best Young Horse at Lexington! We're proud of her! As a two year old she's now standing almost 16.2!!

Moonlight Jewell, shown here with her first foal for us, Colormarks, has been called the best hunter type Paint mare in the country. She is three fourths TB and moves better than most show hunters on the Circuit! A true black and white, she has some awsome TB blood including Bold Ruler, Bull Dog, Tourbillion, War Admiral and Menow. She is the dam of two of our best pinto broodmares, and our homozygous stallion prospect, Counterclaim.

Patti has been an active foxhunter and member of Live Oak Hounds since 1986 where she serves as a field master. She enjoys taking her homebred pintos on visits to hunts all over the country. Hunt Colors, a 16.2 3/4 TB gelding is shown here on a recent trip to Virginia Hunt Week. "Hunter" has also shown in Amateur Adult Divisions in Hunter Shows and done some lower level eventing. He was bred by Flying Colors and is out of a lovely Sir Thompson (Tom Fool line) TB mare who won on the line at Devon!

It is often said "be spotted - ride a pinto! - and this second photo proves the point. Hunter drew a crowd of fans while working as an "outrider" at the CCI*** Red Hills Horse Trials!

The bottom photos are at the Live Oak Pony Club Benefit, where he was the Champion of the show!!

Her Foxhunter - "The Perfect Horse"in my book. Dakota is an 12 year old Paint/TB gelding. True black and white. 16 H. 2001 Overall Adult Amateur Hunter Champion for Southern Hunter Jumper Association. At the same time he was a regular in the field, as well as leading the field as the field master's mount, foxhunting first flight with Live Oak Hounds of Monticello, Florida. That same year he hunted as a guest with Orange County and Cassanova Hunts in Virginia, Midland and Belle Meade in Georgia, and with Mooreland Hunt in Alabama.

Shown here in the first photo with Patti (competing under his show name of "Her Foxhunter") in the Fall 2003 in the well known Rocking Horse Trials in Altoona, Florida, they placed second in their first Recognized Novice Division with a final score of 34. The second photo is of the 2005 National Fieldhunter Championshps in Middleburg, VA. We were named Reserve Champion out of a field of sixty seven of the best hunters in the east competing. It was a trip and a thrill of a lifetime!! He truely proved himself to be my perfect horse, as I've always called him.

Colormarks shown as a 2 year old at the East Coast Finals of the International Hunter Futurity. She is a lovely 16.2 hands mare by Hallmark with exceptional TB blood and athletic ability. Colormarks had a lovely 2003 filly by Claim to Fame, was under saddle awhile, had our exciting VOLTAIRE Pinto Colt in 2005 and then had our gold premium RPSI Colt, Exclaimation, in 2006. We took a year off in 07 to keep her sharp in her under saddle work. She was judged premium at her inspection and is an exceptional mare!

Queens Colors is a 17h black pinto premium Oldenburg mare and has been one of our broodmares. She is half TB and half Dutch Warmblood and was shown as a youngster by Don Stewart where she won championships on the A Hunter Circuit. She also had numerous wins in breed classes.

She is the dam of Stormwatch and Debonair, who are still at Flying Colors Farm. She was sold to a wonderful home in Washington, DC where she is now doing dressage and some trail riding!

Stormwatch - "Stormy" is a Dutch/TB cross filly. She stands 16.1. She is black and white and homozygous for the black gene. She is by the Dutch stallion, Domino, her dam is Queens Colors. Stormy won Best Young Horse in Jacksonville Mid Winter Series 2003 and placed in the top five of her class in the IHF East Coast Finals.

Stormy was moved into my foxhunting string by necessity, and has been both in the field and leading the field at Live Oak, one of the top foxhunts in the Country. She's also been one some hunting road trips! this fall she hunted with Orange County Hunt in Middleburg, Bull Run, and Rappahannock in Virginia.

I recently let her go to her first horse trial...Rocking Horse. She won second in Novice, with a 30.5 dressage and clean cross country and stadium jumping. Her rider, Yett, trotted down a dressage movement that was to be walked, or she would have gotten first place! This mare will jump anything!! I sadly sold her in 2007 to make room for the new foals!! She is now owned by Ann Root of Boca Raton, FL. We miss her but are glad to know she has such a wonderful home!

Newsprint - a 2002 full brother to Claim to Fame. Shown here as a weanling at his Oldenburg Inspection, and again as a two year old, he is growing up at Flying Colors.

Now four and started under saddle, Newsprint stands 16.2 and what a mover he is! A hack winner for sure, with looks and a brain to boot!

We will be bringing this youngster along ourselves before offering him for sale at a later date. He'll be quite an advertisement for our breeding program and his big brother!!
